I am able to proofread all types of academic document. This includes the following:
- Research papers
- Conference papers
- Journal articles
- Powerpoint presentations
- Funding applications
- UCAS applications
- Grant applications
This is what I do when I proofread your work:
- Check spelling, grammar and punctuation errors
- Check the style and consistency throughout your document
- Light editing and re-writing of areas which are unclear
- Comment on areas which are unclear or which could be better written
- Offer suggestions for alternative vocabulary where words have been overused/used incorrectly
- Make sure you have time to ask me any questions via email
To help you produce a tidy, professional-looking document I can also check that referencing and quotations are in the correct format. I am familiar with many different referencing styles, including MLA, CSE, Harvard, APA, Oxford, Chicago, Vancouver and OSCOLA. If your university or institution has a particular style of referencing that you have to use I am happy to cross-reference your document with the guidelines if you send them to me. Many students appreciate my help with this in particular; as it is very time-consuming to make sure this aspect of your work is error-free.
In addition, I can check all footnotes, tables, figures and diagrams. These are often areas that are forgotten about, so it is easy for small mistakes to slip through.
When I have checked everything outlined above I send you two copies of your document, one with the changes and comments visible and a final version. The highlighted copy is very useful as you can see what type of mistakes you have been making so you can learn from them and improve in your future written works.
If you have written a long document like a dissertation or haven’t quite finished part of your work I am able to correct your document in sections, to make your life easier. There is no additional charge for this. Also, I don’t mind if you would like me to proofread one section of your document first so you can see how I have improved your work. Alternatively, you can try my free sample.
I have vast experience of helping students of varying academic backgrounds including ESL and international students and would be very happy to help you.
